A Word from Mr. Gilbert ~
Two big items on a senior's mind: senior thesis and going to college. Please pray for this great class as they prepare for their senior thesis presentations starting this Friday. After graduation, our seniors will make preparations for their next journey.

Facebook Issues
Are universities looking at your Facebook page? You bet. A research report released by NACAC reveals an increasing number of colleges are using social networking sites during the admission process and the number is expected to grow. One-fourth of surveyed institutions (453 participating U.S. colleges and universities from 49 states) indicated that they have used web searches or social networking technology to locate information about prospective students.
Students are cautioned to control the content they distribute online. "Don't post anything that you don't want your parents or school counselor or college admission officer to see," one researcher told the LA Times. Colleges are not reading every applicant's social network site; admission officers do not have time for that. However, the data reflected a higher usage of social networking, blogging and message boards among colleges than many top US businesses.
Colleges use information gathered through online networking sites to prevent embarrassing scenarios, according to the report. The colleges reported using the sites "to verify information or research students who were candidates for scholarships or entry into high demand programs with limited spaces."

May 11th through May 21st - We will be putting all lost and found items out on the Plaza. Any items not picked up by the last day of school will be donated to charity. We try to notify families when items with names on them are turned in, but it wasn't possible with the overwhelming amount of lost goods at this time, so please check the racks! If you have lost items such as jewelry, wallets or makeup, please contact Sheri Markland at 301-6124. Valuable items will not be left out on the plaza.
