The chief goal of the College Office is to give each student and his or her family tools adequate to the task of finding the right match – that institution best suited to offer academic and personal challenges appropriate to the student’s abilities following graduation from Regents. The College Office aims to demystify the potentially intimidating college admissions process, and teach students how to manage it successfully. We believe that the college process at its core is a journey of self-discovery. Throughout, we will encourage students to explore fully who they are and who they want to become as they begin thinking about their college options.
As students navigate this process, the College Counselors at Regents will take an active role by keeping them informed and on schedule. Students will have full access to the college office and may schedule as many conferences as they desire. We value contact with parents during this process and encourage parents to provide steady support for their students as they make college choices, fill out applications, meet deadlines, and make the application process truly a reflection of who they are.
