All dads are invited to Regents Dads’ Lunch at 12:00 noon at Matt's El Rancho. Enjoy great food, conversation with other dads, and words of wisdom from William Glasgow, who’ll be talking about practical ways to engage in our child’s education and the benefits of doing so. We guaranteed Matt’s we’ll have at least fifty dads, so we’d appreciate it if you’d mark it on your calendar now and bring a friend or two. Please RSVP at www.regentsschool.com/dadslunch so we’ll know how many to expect. Come hungry for good food and good fellowship, this is a great opportunity to get connected to other dads at school and be inspired by a great speaker. Please bring $13 cash to cover your meal and beverage.

The recent rain and the seasonal temperature changes have been welcomed by all at the garden. Seedlings of carrots, broccoli, kale, cilantro, and snow peas are rising from the soil as our fall gardens come to life. A sense of excitement is shared by each of us as we participate in activities as old as humanity. Kindergarteners are exploring farms and gardens. First graders are learning about spiders. Second graders continue their parts of the plant lessons on roots. (Eph. 3:17) Third graders have begun their compost project and have hunted for artifacts. Fourth graders are preparing to get in the pond next week. Our annual fundraiser sale of holiday greenery is underway. the next STEERING COMMITTEE meeting will be Oct. 23 at 7:50 a.m. the next SERVICE DAY will be Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. until noon. questions/comments hgilliam@regentsaustin.org

Sit on the sidelines and experience one of the distinctives of a classical education as SOR students challenge, explore, and debate with each other. On October 28 observe students in Mr. Simmons junior history class, from 11:30-12:25 p.m. at the harkness table outside the college advising office on the 2nd floor of the SOR building. Whether you’re casting a vision for your younger child or understanding what your SOR child participates in daily, you’ll be inspired.
