In a play loosely based on the themes found in Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid," a sea nymph falls in love with a handsome nobleman, only to lose true love to the harsh realities of a world to which she does not belong. Although there is no objectionable content, students younger than 6th grade may not grasp the complexities and nuance of love, fidelity and loss.
All Shows start at 7 p.m. in the Regents School Logic Hall Gallery 2nd floor.

Spiders. Yes, they can be creepy and frightening, but the 1st graders have been learning that they can also be quite interesting. These predators move in the background, often escaping our notice, and beat back the insect hoards. They all make and use silk for a variety of purposes. Spider silk starts as a liquid but when exposed to air becomes a solid. It is a polymer and one of the strongest substances on earth. Spiders are surely creepy, but they are also very useful and interesting. I call them a gardeners best friend. Next Steering Committee Meeting-Nov. 13.
